Comeford was the proprietor of the trading post along with his wife Maria.  The first sawmill opened in 1887, which help to add growth to Marysville, three more sawmills were established over the next few years.  In 1889, the railroad found its way to Marysville, and in 1891 Marysville was incorporated.

Marysville still has operating farms around the city, but is mainly a city with a large retail and service-based economy.   Marysville offers fourteen parks that have playgrounds, fishing ponds, a Petting Zoo, trails for hikers, joggers, bikers and horseback riders.  There is also a Skateboard Park, roller skating rink, Miniature golf and an 18-hole golf course.
